A exposição “Here and There” apresentou a evolução do panorama criativo dos designers de Macau, através de uma seleção de estúdios e projetos que apresentavam uma variedade e versatilidade surpreendentes.

Durante 35 anos os designers de Macau, utilizaram toda a sua energia, paixão e profissionalismo para promover o design local no mundo. Nos últimos dez anos, foram galardoados em concursos de renome internacional e foi através deste meio que os ateliers promoveram os seus negócios e projetos à escala mundial.

Assim, seleccionaram-se os trabalhos mais representativos de diversos estúdios macaenses, dos últimos vinte anos para constar desta exposição. Portugal, berço da cultura, arte e vida de Macau, integra harmoniosamente a cultura nativa tradicional chinesa, transformando-se numa vantagem diferenciadora para Macau.

Na inauguração e apresentação do evento estiveram presentes: Chao Sio Leong, diretor da exposição, James Chu e Emanuel Barbosa ambos curadores e Jorge Vieira, Managing Director Roca, SA.

Esta exposição foi um projeto conjunto da MDA – Macau Designers Association em parceria com a ACPT – Associação Cultural Portuguesa e Roca Lisboa Gallery, contando ainda com o patrocínio do Instituto Cultural de Governo da RAE de Macau.

The exhibition “Here and There” addresses the creative evolution of contemporary Macao designers, with a selection of surprising projects.

For 35 years, Macao designers have used their passion and professionalism to promote the local design on the international stage. Over the past 10 years, they have won prestigious awards in many important international design competitions and it was through this means that the studios expanded their businesses and projects across the globe.

Therefore, the most representative works from various Macaense studios from the last twenty years were selected to be included in this exhibition. Portugal is Macao’s cradle of culture, art, and life, which integrates and impacts with the native Chinese traditional culture, becoming into an distinguished advantage for Macao.

For the event opening and presentation, we had the presence of Chao Sio Leong, exhibition director, James Chu and Emanuel Barbosa, both curators, and Jorge Vieira, managing director of Roca, SA.

This exhibition is a joint project of Macau Designers Association (MDA) in partnership with the Portuguese Cultural Association (ACPT) and Roca Lisboa Gallery, with the sponsorship of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government.
